Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the Council of the Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association (APOA), I welcome you
to the 21st APOA Congress to be held from 29 to 31 July 2021. As concerns increased on the
uncertainties and the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Organising
Committee, led by Congress Chairman, Dr Syed Alsag off, has decided to convene it in a
virtual conference.
The Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association is a regional organisation of orthopaedic surgeons
mainly from the Asia Pacific region. To date, the APOA has 24 member chapters and more
than 60,000 orthopaedic surgeons as members of APOA.
The scientific sessions will be dedicated to all fields of orthopaedic surgery – trauma, sports
injuries, paediatric orthopaedics, orthopaedic oncology, hip, knee, spine, hand & wrist,
shoulder and elbow, foot and ankle, hand & upper limb, general orthopaedics and orthopaedic research.
The APOA Congress 2021 running on a virtual platform now will be able to attract more
world renowned leaders to participate and exchange expertise and to launch brilliant new
ideas together as well as an opportunity to the young and budding orthopaedic surgeons to
interact with experts from particularly from the region. It will present a unique chance to
share and enhance knowledge on the latest international research and developments, to
advance orthopaedic knowledge and to forge new friendships.
